  • Recognition at April Board Meeting

    At Tuesday night's (4/25/17) board meeting the following students were recognized.

  • Graduation 2017

    Due to limited seating in the Arena, only guests with tickets will be admitted to attend the Montgomery County High School graduation ceremony.  Each graduating senior may request up to 10 tickets.  The doors will be opened at 5 PM, Friday,  May 19th,  to any guest with a ticket.  Doors will not be open to the general public without tickets.  However, the MCHS graduation ceremony will  be available for viewing in its entirety via live Internet streaming from a link that will posted on the MCHS and District Websites.  The MCHS auditorium will be open to the public who may not have Internet access to view the live streaming of the ceremony on a first come, first serve basis as up to 375 tickets will be available at the auditorium entrance starting at 6 PM, Friday, May 19th.

  • MCHS Youth ADAPT

    The Montgomery County High School ADAPT (Alcohol, Drug Abuse Prevention Team) is a peer driven effort to educate and prevent alcohol and drug abuse amongst the students of MCHS. This group of students met for the first time on Friday with the Mt. Sterling Police Department. MCHS Youth ADAPT will collect information on current and future drug trends amongst students, once identified the group will develop an educational awareness program to help educate their fellow students.

  • Board Approved Revisions to Calendar

    Earlier this evening, the Montgomery County Board of Education approved revisions to the school calendar as follows:

    The last day for students will be Thursday, May 18th.

    MCHS graduation will be held on Friday, May 19th at 7 p.m.

    The end of the school year is a busy time, including mandatory awards ceremonies, testing, completion and promotion programs** and other events. Please contact your school if you have any questions regarding dates of specific events.

    **Please Note: McNabb’s 8th grade promotion will be held on Thursday, May 18th at 7 p.m.

     

  • Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders

    Cotton Seth Thorpe, a 10th grader, has been selected as a Delegate to represent Montgomery County High School and the Commonwealth of Kentucky at the Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders to be held June 29, 30 and July 1, 2017, in Boston, Massachusetts.   The Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders, sponsored by the National Academy of Future Scientists and Technologists, will honor Delegates and direct them to stay true to their dreams.  The Congress is an academic honors program open only to high-achieving high school students who have a minimum GPA of 3.5 (or equivalent) and committed to the field of science and technology.  During the three-day Congress, Delegates will be mentored by some of the greatest living minds in science – men and women who are literally leading humanity into the 21st century of innovation and discovery.   Speakers will include Nobel Prize Laureates, deans from the world’s top-10 universities, leaders in research and cutting-edge technology, and leaders from private industry.  Congratulations on this remarkable achievement!

  • Making Up Snow Day: May 16, 2017 (Election Day)

    At last night’s board meeting (3/28/17), the Montgomery County Board of Education agreed to use May 16, 2017 as a make-up day for the snow day that we had on 1/30/17.
    The last day for students on the school calendar (May 18) is correct, contingent upon no other days are missed.

    May 16, 2017 (Election Day) will be a student instructional day.
