Student Leadership Teams

We are so proud of all of our fall student leadership teams at Mapleton!  Not only have they been leading the students and staff at Mapleton to support the success of our school, this year they have been focused on connecting to groups in the community that have the same goals.  The Safety Team has worked this fall with the various law enforcement groups and hosted them for a day of appreciation and focused on educating our students about bus safety.  The Civics Team has connected with the Kiwanis group to learn more about their role in our community, and the Environmental Improvement Team has been connected to our downtown revitalization team and Tourism Director.  These community leaders explained their role in improving our community.  The students also visited businesses spreading holiday cheer and decorations to share.

Registering for Preschool & Kindergarten

The Montgomery County School District has scheduled registration for children who will begin preschool or kindergarten beginning in August 2019. Parents may register kindergarten students Monday, April 15 from 8 am to 2 pm or Tuesday, April 16 from 12-6 pm at their districted elementary school.

Kindergarten is open to all children who will be 5 on or before August 1, 2019.

Preschool is available at all 4 MCS elementary schools to children who will be 3 years old and are identified with a developmental delay or disability; and children who will be 4 years old by August 1 who meet federal income eligibility guidelines or are identified with a developmental delay or disability. Preschool is offered in morning and afternoon sessions, Monday through Thursday each week to students who reside in the Montgomery County School District.

Free screenings are available to all MCS families with preschool-age children to help determine if there are any educational concerns.  Register your preschool student Friday, April 19 from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm at Camargo Elementary, or Friday, May 10 from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm at the Clay Community Center.
