||Dr. Richard Culross
Rick Culross is our new Deputy Superintendent of Support Operations. Dr. Culross brings a wealth of school experiences to our district. He has 21 years of experience in education, including five years of teaching middle school in Dalton, Georgia, four years as Assistant Principal and four years as Principal at Simon Kenton High School in Independence, Kentucky. He then directed Pupil Personnel and Student Services in Kenton County.
Dr. Culross joined Scott County Schools in 2012 as the Director of Student Services and was promoted to Director of Human Resources and Benefits when Rob Stafford was selected as superintendent of Owen County. Dr. Culross has worked as Director of Human Resources the last two years. During this time, he has overseen transportation and school safety. He has also worked very closely in collaboration with the departments of nutrition services, finance, maintenance, and facilities.
“I’m very excited to be joining the Montgomery County School District family. I look forward to joining the school community and working with students, staff, teachers, administrators, the board, and all stakeholders in the school community,” Culross said.
Dr. Culross and his wife Jerri reside in Central Kentucky. They have two children, Elise and Lucie. Culross earned his bachelor’s degree from Eastern Kentucky University, his masters in Special Education from University of Alabama, his principal certification from University of West Georgia, and his Director of Pupil Personnel and Superintendent certifications from Xavier University. Most recently, Culross completed his education doctorate at Northern Kentucky University in 2011.
