  • Montgomery County High School Principal Selected

    This evening the Montgomery County High School SBDM Council selected Mr. Rocky Franz to serve as the Principal at MCHS. Mr. Franz is a familiar face to students, parents, and staff at the high school, where he previously served as an assistant principal. Please join us in welcoming Mr. Franz into his new position.

  • Jump Start Kindergarten at Mapleton Elementary

    Jump Start Kindergarten at Mapleton Elementary is scheduled for Monday, July 27th - Wednesday, July 29th. The program will run daily from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Registration packets will be mailed to all incoming kindergarten students who are currently enrolled to attend in the fall. If you would like for your child to participate or if you have questions regarding the program, please contact Leslee Toy at 859-497-8752 or by email at leslee.toy@montgomery.kyschools.us

  • Open House

    Kindergarten Monday, August 10,2015 from 5:30 – 7:00 Meet in the gym first for an introduction to our school by Mrs. Harris and informational booths for transportation, food service, and programs.

    First through fourth grades Tuesday, August 11,2015 from 5:30 – 7:00  Parents are welcome to go directly to classrooms.  There will be informational booths set up in the gym from 5:30-7:00.

    A new Mapleton 4th grade tradition, students performed learning songs a insturmental solos.

  • Academic Heros

    Students take on the hero's challenge to use good work habits at home and at school!

    MoCo High School Heroes in sports as well as outstanding character and academics share their secret to success.  Meanwhile, Spidey encourages good behavior.

  • Academic Team

    Mapleton's Academic Team placed 2nd in the quick recall tournament and 1st in the FPS tournament.

  • Art Program

    Montgomery County winners of the Jim Claypool Conservation Art contest were all Mapleton students this year!  First place Ollie Fagenbush, second Jake Lawill, and third place Shyanne Lawson .  Shirley Ginter, Art teacher at Mapleton, was named Outstanding Conservation Teacher of the Year in the Montgomery County Conservation District for her dedication to teaching conservation of natural resources through art.

  • Kentucky Proud

    National author, Mark Wayne Adams; a native of Dawson Springs, Kentucky, shared his talent with all Mapleton students as he talked about writing, illustrating, and good work habits. Many students left with signed copies of books as part of his program to encourage young readers. 

  • Science Club

    Mapleton  Elementary Science Club attended the 2015 Kentucky Youth Energy Awards in Frankfort where they were recognized for an outstanding 2014-2015 energy program.  Six students represented the cub of 52 children.  These six students had the highest participation as the club worked on their project, Energy Rocks.  Mapleton 3rd and 4th grademembers lead others in an energy education program, school wide recycling, Science Fair, Energy Audit of Mapleton, finding ways to make our school more energy efficient and a reusable bag campaign.  (Pictured Ben Thomerson, Kiah Goodpaster, Emily Zink, Jacob Mullins, Ian Morales, Hallie Conley.  Standing behind them is club sponsor Sheila Baker.)

    Student Technology Leadership Program Competes on the state level with several projects.Students traveled to Morehead and Lexington this year.
