  • MCHS Softball Clinic

    The MCHS Softball Team will be hosting a softball clinic this Saturday, April 26th from 9 am to noon at Tommy Reffitt Field by Mt. Sterling Elementary.  We will cover softball skills, drills, and fundamentals.  All participants will receive lunch, a certificate, and a camp t-shirt.   • Last Day of School Set

    THE CALENDAR!!  Please be advised that on April 15th the Board of Education approved a plan establishing the last day for students this year and a waiver request was submitted to the Kentucky Department of Education on April 16th.  Pending approval of the waiver request for 1.96 hours of make-up time (to reach the required 1,062-hour minimum), the last day for students will be Friday, June 6th.  Additionally, school WILL BE IN SESSION on Election Day, May 20th, AND Memorial Day, May 26th.  The district recognizes the importance of Memorial Day and would rarely use it as a school day, but it is necessary to prevent students from attending school during the second week of June.  School employees will work during the second week of June to complete contract requirements.  The High School graduation date will be confirmed by the high school after the waiver request is approved by the State.


  • MCIS Science Fair

    MCIS will hold our first Science Fair on May 8 at 6:00!

    This will mark MCIS' very first science fair, which is mandatory for all sixth graders and highly encouraged for all fifth graders.

  • MCIS Musical The Lady Pirates of Captain Bee

    The MCIS Musical is The Lady Pirates of Captain Bree:

    • We will practice Mondays and Wednesdays in March and April.
    • The performance date will be April 24th, from 5:30-6:30.

  • DreamBox Math Program

    There is a new website for students to access a math program from home! Students can "play" these games to help them with math content!


  • Camp SMILE

    Camp SMILE (Sharing Memories in a Loving Environment) is provided for children ages 7-17 who have suffered the loss of a loved one.  It is a free community service offered by St. Claire Regional Hospice, Pallative Care, and the Morehead State University Department of Nursing.  The camp is May 30 - June 1st.  Click here for more details.

  • April is Child Abuse Prevention Month
