Hello, my name is Kendra Armstrong. I am the 8th Grade Math teacher on Team 1. This is my 11th year teaching Math, 7th year at McNabb. I have a BA in Middle Grades Education in the subjects of Mathematics and Science. I also have my Master Degree: Teacher Leader (K-12) and Instructional Computer Technology (K-12).
My husband, Rob and I live in Morehead, KY where we have a 9 year old son named Zachary who is in 4th grade, and a 5 year old daughter named Khloe who is in Kindergarten. We are a very active family from gymnastics, art classes, Cub Scouts and the Army National Guard. We have lived in Alaska for 3 years and Tennessee for 2 years before deciding to come home to Kentucky.
Please do not hesitate to reach out if you/your child is struggling. We are in this together and will make this year the best year we can! The best way to contact me is through e-mail, which I will try to get back to you as soon as possible.

Grading:
There will be two categories for grading: Summative Assessments (tests) and Formative Assessments (bellringers/classwork/homework). Each category is 50% of the students overall grade. These scores are then averaged together each nine weeks to create a students final grade. Below is the scoring for Summative Assessments. Students have an opportunity to re-test on summative assessments once a reteach has been completed for each target they wish to re-test on.
Score Percentage Meaning
5 100% Student has mastered the standard to the highest level
4 80% Student has mostly mastered the standard, needs some practice for full mastery
3 60% Student has progressed in the standard, partially mastered, but still needs assistance
2 40% Student has mastered a small part of the standard, but needs more practice to master
1 20% Student has not mastered the standard & needs additional work/practice to master
