Back to School 2024-2025
New Student Enrollment
Steps to sign up any K-12 student who is new to Montgomery County Schools:
- Please take a look at the necessary paperwork under Resources below.
-
Then, start the new student enrollment packet. Print the forms or stop by any school or Central Office for a packet.
- Lastly, call your school's attendance clerk to make an appointment and submit the required packet and documents in person.
MCS enrolls students at the school, where they are zoned based on their residential address. Once we receive all the required documents, your school will confirm your child's enrollment.

School Nutrition
All MCS schools operate under Community Eligibility (CE) Provision. As a result, all MCS students will receive breakfast and lunch at no cost. A Household Income Form should be completed for each household.
The MCS Nutrition Program understands the various nutritional needs of all students. Please read the Special Diets / Food Allergies to learn about how to request accommodation for your student(s) meals.
Every student is assigned a meal account with a number that
they provide to the cashier to identify their account. Cafeteria managers will be at Open House events to remind students of their number. Students may put money into their account to purchase “extra” items such as ala cart, extra milk, additional entrees, etc.
Money may be added with cash, check, or by creating an account at
www.myschoolbucks.com. Account balances and purchase history may also be viewed with a My School Bucks account.
School CommunicationWe encourage MCS families to update their contact information. Let your child's school know the easiest ways to contact you in an emergency OR if a teacher or school administrator needs to reach you. MCS also uses BrightArrow to notify families via text and phone when vital information comes from the district or your child's school. When a BrightArrow notification is sent, the caller ID number is 1 (855) 994-4242.
Student HandbookEvery MCS student will receive a copy of the Student Code of Conduct. Parents or guardians must sign the last sheet and send it back to their student's school.
Supply ListMCS will continue to provide school supplies (except backpacks) for students using the federal relief funds relating to the pandemic.
