1 - $500 scholarship


Applicant must have earned a minimum of a 2.5 GPA

Applicant must attend a college or university as a full-time student or a technical school. 

Applicant must demonstrate a positive attitude toward school, learning and personal growth and accomplishment.

Applicant must complete the community scholarship application and submit a one-page essay on what Mike Hanson meant to the community of Montgomery County. 


The scholarship will be awarded directly to the college, university, or technical school. 

Selection Committee:

The committee will be composed of a guidance counselor, member of local media and or family member, parent representative, and foundation representative

Morehead State Collegiate Farm Bureau Scholarship:

The eligible students will meet the following criteria: 

  • Be a graduating senior 
  • A current FFA member 
  • Will be enrolled full-time at Morehead State this coming Fall 2021 semester 
  • Majoring in an area of agriculture 
  • Have a residence in one of the following counties: Bath, Bracken, Fleming, Lewis, Mason, Menifee, Montgomery, Morgan, Nicholas, Robertson, or Rowan

2021 Student Scholarship Criteria
Purpose: The KEDC Scholarship Fund awards scholarships to college (2 or 4 year), technical or vocational bound students graduating from a high school in a KEDC member district.
Criteria: The recipient of the KEDC scholarship shall be held to the following criteria (scoring rubric can be found on KEDC’s website at, Instruction tab, Instruction & Leadership, KEDC Annual Scholarship)
Maintain a grade point average (GPA) no lower than 3.0 Meet current benchmarks for the ACT as set by CPE in
13 KAR 2:020.
ACT (English = 18, Reading = 20, Mathematics = 19)
Write an essay demonstrating potential - (Why are you the best fit for this scholarship?)
Must demonstrate financial need; disclose other scholarship awards (types and amounts)
Recipient is not required to declare any particular major to be an eligible applicant
Guidelines: Scholarship will be awarded on an annual basis and is not renewable. Funds will be distributed based upon
proof of higher education enrollment.
Amount: A scholarship will be awarded in the amount of $2,500, to be divided into two equal installments (once per semester).
Deadline: The deadline to apply is April 1, 2021. Applications received after the postmarked or email receipt date of April 1 will not be scored. All applications will be scored using the blind scoring process.
Recipient will be notified by April 30, 2021.

Kentucky Association of Government Communicators KAGC Scholarship Eligibility: Must be a senior at a public high school the year the award is made, plan to study communications or journalism at any postsecondary school and apply online at scholarship. Award: $500; nonerenewable Deadline: March 12 Number: 1 Contact: with “Question” in the subject line


The Stephen L. Keller Scholarship was established to support outstanding students from Eastern Kentucky who intend to major in a business-related field. The student must attend an accredited four-year educational institution in Kentucky. Graduating high school seniors and current undergraduate students are eligible to apply.  This scholarship provides an award of $1,500 that is renewable for up to four years of undergraduate study.  The deadline to apply is March 5, 2021 at 5:00 pm (EST).  


Applicant qualifications required for this scholarship:


  • Student must be a resident of Eastern Kentucky (eligible counties highlighted in map below)
  • Graduating high school seniors or current undergraduate student are eligible to apply
  • Student must plan to attend or currently attend an accredited degree granting four-year college or university in Kentucky
  • Student must have an interest in business and intend to major in business administration or related field of study
  • Student must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Student must demonstrate financial need




The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is now accepting applications for scholarship opportunities for students who will be pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Kentucky, the University of Louisville, or Western Kentucky University AND who would be interested in working for KYTC after graduation; as well as students who will be attending KCTCS (Big Sandy Community & Technical College (BSCTC) & Bluegrass Community & Technical College (BCTC) AND who are also interested in working for KYTC after graduation. 


If selected, the CE students will be eligible for stipends in the amount of $6,200/semester for the freshman & sophomore years and $6,600/semester for the junior & senior years.  CET students will be eligible for stipends in the amount of  $3,000/semester they are working to pursue their Associates Degree in Civil Engineering Technology.


All students chosen for the program will also have the opportunities for summer employment with KYTC, as well as any co-ops that their school may require.

Eligibility Requirements
1. ACT and SAT scores are not required.
2. Must attend an Eligible Public High School.
3. FAFSA EFC must not exceed $6,500.  
4. Must be a U.S. Citizen.
5. Must have achieved a 3.75 CGPA using a 4.0 Scale.
6. Must be ranked by the school and in the top 20% of the high school graduating class.

The Kentucky Concrete Association is pleased to announce that the annual KCA William T. Robertson High School Essay Scholarship Contest is now open and accepting essay submissions.  


The William T. Robertson High School Essay Scholarship Contest is open to all Kentucky resident High School Seniors.  The contest winner will be awarded a $2,000 scholarship to be paid to the college of their choice in their freshman year.  The winner will also be invited to attend the KCA Winter Convention in Lexington, KY in February 2021 to accept the award.

This year's essay prompt is:

It's the turn of the 21st Century... how is the resilience and durability of concrete contributing to your local community or the world?

The essay submission process is the same as last year whereby paper submissions will not be accepted.  All essays must be submitted online via the link that is included below.

The essay rules are as follows:

  • Student must be a current senior in high school graduating in the 2020 – 2021 school year.
  • Essays must address the essay prompt directly.
  • Essays must be a written by a single student and shall not be collaborative in nature.

Our scholarship is called the From Classroom to Classroom Scholarship, and we are on a mission to make an impact in the lives of aspiring teachers in America. Once a year, we award a graduating high school student with a $5,000 scholarship to further their educational goals. To apply, students must meet the following eligibility requirements:

Discover Nursing Scholarship Search - If you are or will be studying nursing, give this free scholarship search a try. You will probably find more nursing scholarships here than in any other source.

FreeScholarshipSearch - This site doesn't list as many scholarships as some sites, but it's very well done and lists some awards not often found elsewhere.

GoCollege - Their search encompasses 800,000 individual awards worth over $2.8 billion in scholarships, and they say they maintain a strict privacy policy.

Illinois Mentor - This scholarship finder is sponsored by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission but is available to all current or college-bound students.

ImmediateScholarships - In about 30 seconds this site will match students to scholarships worth between $500 and $50,000

InternationalScholarships - This scholarship search is fairly unique because it features scholarships for international students and scholarships for study abroad programs.

Kalamazoo Community Foundation Scholarship Search - Specifically designed to meet the needs of Kalamazoo area residents seeking scholarship information.

Maryland Higher Education Commission - Although sponsored by the State of Maryland, this search may be helpful to other students as well. - This site claims to help students find, “millions of dollars in scholarships and grants exclusively for the military community”.

myfreedegree - Their database contains, “billions of dollars of college scholarships and financial aid awards”, including some for bowlers, knitters, “C” students, cartoonists, etc.

NextStudent - According to their site, they give you free access to a database “of more than 42,000 college funding sources comprised of more than 2.4 million individually awarded scholarships valued at over 3.4 billion dollars.

School Soup - Their scholarship data base lists $32 billion in scholarships.

StudentAidontheWeb - A U.S. Department of Education sponsored free online scholarship search.

Study Abroad Funding - Their website says, "Our comprehensive database of study abroad scholarships, fellowships, and grants can help make your dream of studying abroad a financial possibility and a profound reality." Scholarship searches can be conducted by country or subject.

SuperCollege - An online scholarship search sponsored by Harvard educated folks who publish books on college planning.

Study Abroad Search - This scholarship locator service is sponsored by UNESCO, a part of the United Nations.

United Negro College Fund Scholarship Search - A free online scholarship search sponsored by the United Negro College Fund.

CollegeNet/Mach 25 - Allows you to search through 600,000 awards for scholarship matches.

Nationally Coveted Scholarships and Fellowships - Not really a scholarship match program but a very good site that lists undergraduate, graduate and postdoctoral awards.

International Education Financial Aid - The IEFA website was created to be a resource for financial aid, college scholarship and grant information for US and international students wishing to study abroad. - Part of the network, ClubScholarships lists more than 500,000 awards to which students can seek a match.

Pacific Northwest Scholarship Guide - A free online scholarship match program maintained by the nonprofit College Planning Network, serving students of the Pacific Northwest.
