Preschool & Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten and preschool registration for 2024-25 is right around the corner. Don't wait until the summer crunch. Sign up early!

Kindergarten: Kentucky law requires youths between 6 and 18 years old to attend school, and the birthday cutoff to enroll in kindergarten is age 5 on or before August 1.

Preschool: Families may apply for preschool if their child turns 4 on or before August 1 and identified to have a developmental delay, disability, or meets the federal income eligibility guidelines he/she can attend preschool if their child is 3 years old and identified to have a developmental delay or disability he/she can attend preschool.


Steps to sign up any K-12 student who is new to Montgomery County Schools:

  1. Review the necessary paperwork under Resources below.
  2. Then, complete new student enrollment forms.
  3. Lastly, call your school's attendance secretary for an appointment to finish the packet in person if you are unable to make registration dates.
    • Kindergarten Registration (register at your districted elementary school)
      • March 20 from 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM
      • March 21 from 12:00-2:00 PM and 3:00-6:00 PM
         
    • Preschool Registration
      • April 19 from 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM at the Clay Community Center
