Building the Future: MCHS Renovation Updates

Montgomery County Schools is beginning a multi-year renovation project at Montgomery County High School. This page will provide current construction updates, photos, and information that may affect students, families, staff, and visitors.

Phase One Construction Update

The projects featured below are part of Phase One of the Montgomery County High School renovation. Photos on this page were taken within the past month and reflect construction progress at the time they were captured. Because work is ongoing, conditions and project areas may have changed since the photos were taken.

New Greenhouse

Foundation work is underway for the new greenhouse, with completion anticipated in spring 2027.

Courtyard Exterior Improvements

The existing courtyard wall finish is being replaced with a more durable metal exterior system.

Tennis Court Facility

Work has begun on a new tennis facility at the former McNabb practice field.

Media Center Hallway Structural Improvements

Crews are preparing the media center hallway for the installation of a new structural support system that will reinforce the building’s foundation.

Building 1 Improvements

Major upgrades include new HVAC, electrical, and lighting systems, along with fully renovated restroom facilities.

New ATC Welding Shop

Renovations are underway to create an on-site welding shop and strengthening CTE learning opportunities.

As this multi-year renovation progresses, construction will move to different areas of the MCHS campus while school operations continue.
